How did Black Rock get its name? Continued…
When we decided to start our own company back in 2010 coming up with the name was about the toughest thing I have done so far (we think we nailed it!). Unique, Clean, Sharp, Strong, National, and Powerful is what we were going after. We didn’t want a name that would paint us in a corner like South Carolina Promotions or Palmetto Printing and Promotional Products, Instead we wanted a company name that would be recognizable no matter where we are!
What if we wanted to move to Denver…? I could just see how that call would go… “Hi, I’m Joey from South Carolina Promotions and Printing we wanted to talk to you about your online company stores” “You’re not from Colorado?!” Yeah so, we were trying to do our homework and come up with a great name that would help carry our company anywhere we wanted to go!
One day I was eating lunch reading emails listening to my favorite band from College and it hit me like a ton of bricks! BLACK ROCK!!! We used to go and hang out with our friends at a place in Newberry, way out in the country, up on a hill with this slick rock we called “Black Rock” and use to listen to O.A.R (Of A Revolution) the entire time. The song is about going to Black Rock and chilling out without stress and decompressing, it was so fitting because we want our client partners to feel no stress when dealing with us. Black Rock Business Solutions, LLC was born. We went through a complete rebrand in 2015 to Black Rock Branding and shifted our focus to the new way of purchasing with online company stores and a more agency style approach to our clients marketing needs.
